The members of the Cathedral Parish welcome you! We are located at 126 Coming Street, two blocks north of Calhoun Street, two blocks west of Marion Square, in midtown Charleston.  Established in 1809 as "The Third Episcopal Church" by several plantation families and, therefore, also known as the Planters' Church, this parish became the Cathedral Church of St. Luke and St. Paul in 1963. Our mission as the "seat" of the Bishop of South Carolina is to witness to the historic Christian faith, true to the Anglican tradition, throughout the Diocese; in the civic and arts communities of Charleston; at the College of Charleston through InterVarsity Fellowship; through international mission by the Port and Seafarers' Society as well as through our companion Diocese of the Dominican Republic; and as the home parish of  Mere Anglicanism, the Order of St. Vincent, and the Society for Advancement of Christianity in South Carolina.   We embody this witness in worship, education, and outreach through the members of the Body of Christ formed by the Holy Spirit amongst us.
